The Premium Bread Makers Association of Nigeria has convened a team of industry experts to address the economic pressures facing the bread-making sector, aiming to develop adaptive innovations that can sustain competitiveness amid rising costs.
The association made this disclosure in a statement signed by consultant Eddy Ademosu, on Sunday.
The experts will gather at PBAN’s second annual “Day-Out” event on November 21 in Lagos to discuss the theme “Innovations in a Dynamic Bread-Making Industry: Using Local and Affordable Alternative Ingredients.”
PBAN President Engineer Emmanuel Onuorah said the event will bring together key industry stakeholders to explore cost-effective solutions to mitigate the impact of fluctuating economic conditions.
“We examined the dynamics of the bread-making business today and believe that adaptive innovations are essential to navigate an unstable economic environment,” Onuorah said.
Speakers at the event will include the Director-General of the Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi, Dr Jummai Tutuwa, who will serve as a guest speaker, along with key representatives from the value chain, including Mr Bolaji Anifowose of Crown Flour Mills Ltd, Mr Ayodeji Oyinlola of Macadams Baking Systems Nig. Ltd, and Mr Clestus Chibuko of Edcel Nig. Ltd.
The 2024 PBAN Day-Out will also feature social engagements for members to relax from the demands of the bread-making industry.
